Second City Salvage is offering today this double-sided ruby red glass Exit light fixture with bold white acid etched lettering (on two sides) on a chrome fitter/canopy with a turn switch. It is a beefy piece and measures 5 1/2″w x 5 1/2″w and will drop 8″ from the ceiling once installed. The canopy is 5 ½” dia x 1 ½”h. The shade itself is 5 1/2″w x 5 1/2″w x 7″h with a 3 1/4″ fitter and the glass is 1/8″ thick. The turn switch is functional. The heavy ruby red triangle shaped glass shade is in MINT condition. It is not marked, but I believe it was probably manufactured by Kopp. This light accepts a standard base bulb, has a new socket, has been rewired and will come to you with a modern bracket needed for install.
Note on Kopp: Kopp started off doing glass for railroads (Union Switch and Signal was right next door), then expanded in residential including very nice table lamps under PL&B (Pittsburgh Lamp & Brass) name. That failed around the depression, but the founder kept the foundry alive and brought it back to the Kopp name, and focused again on primarily industrial.
