Description
Second City Salvage is offering today this pair of vintage wrought and cast iron exterior Tudor Revival witches hat sconces salvaged from an Iowa church (2nd to last photo) built in the early 20th century and went through a renovation in the 1939. They were manufactured by Novelty Lighting Co. and the last photo in the listing shows them in a 1939 catalog. These have been completely restored and have the original patina which includes some rust and loss of black paint. We hit them with a wire wheel to get rid of most of the corrosion and then sprayed them with a flat clear lacquer to keep them from rusting any further. The patina is fantastic! They have the original pebble glass pieces which remain undamaged and are ready for their second life. They are monumental in size and each one measures 8″w x 19 1/2″h and will project 9 1/2″ from the wall once installed. The wall plates are 4 ½”w x 11″h. They accept one standard base bulb and will come to you with updated wiring with a modern cross bar needed for install. Easy bulb change by unscrewing the bottom panel. They are priced for the pair and we are not willing to separate them.
