Description
Second City Salvage is thrilled to offer this pair of fully restored brass sconces from the Arts & Crafts era that date to c1905. These were formerly gas and have been converted to electric so the keys on the sockets do not work and are merely decorative. These will need to be hard wired to a wall switch. The components are original except for the new sockets which accept small base candelabra bulbs. They were painted when received so once all of that was stripped away, this was the patina that we found underneath – they have only been lightly cleaned. We paired them with these cased glass Sheffield shades which are from the same period and are in mint condition. Each light measures 5 3/4″w x 9 1/4″h and will project 8″ from the wall once installed. The canopies measure 4 1/2″ square x 2 1/2″h and the shades themselves are 5 3/4″diameter x 4 5/8″h and have 2 ¼” fitters. They will come to you with updated wiring, ready to install with a modern cross bar. A very versatile pair which can be installed as up or down lights as shown and will enhance and be the highlight to your Craftsman home. We are not willing to separate these.
