Description
Second City Salvage is offering today this antique brass pendant c1900 that has been completely restored. It was painted when received so when all of that was removed, this was the patina we found underneath and it has only been lightly cleaned. All components are brass so will darken naturally. It measures 9″ diameter and will drop 27 1/2″ from the ceiling once installed. The chain is 14″ (can be shortened) and the original bee hive canopy is 4 1/2″ diameter x 4″h. The paddle switch socket is a new replacement, but the original shade holder has patent date of Dec 9, ’90. The shade is a Brascolite shade in clam broth glass in the Sheffield style which measures 9″ dia x 4″h and has a 2 ¼” fitter. It is in mint condition, but there is a line in the glass that I at first thought was a crack, but it looks like it’s some sort of flaw that happened during manufacturing (last photo). It is not notable, but I have to mention. It takes a standard base bulb, will come to you with period correct gold cloth wiring and a modern cross bar needed for install. A great old pendant will be a wonderful enhancement to any vintage setting.
