Description
Second City Salvage is offering today this fabulous light from the Art Deco era c1930 that can either be installed as a pendant light or a newel post light. I have shown it in the photos both ways. We are pretty certain the fixture itself is French. The frame has been replated in polished chrome as the finish was very tired and worn and needed a boost. The shade is an original etched and frosted glass Art Deco acorn shade that is in excellent condition with only a few very minor flea bite chips to the rim of the shade that disappear once the shade is screwed onto the fitter. Overall measurement is 6 1/2″w x 23″h. The shade itself is 6 1/2″w x 10 1/2″h and has a 4″ fitter. The frame of the light is 12 ¾”h and the canopy is 5″ in diameter. It accepts a standard base bulb, wiring will be updated with a new porcelain socket, will be tested and will come with a modern cross bar needed for a ceiling installation. Its streamline design says less is more and it is a wonderful representation of the European Art Deco period.
