Description
Second City Salvage is offering today this old stained glass window that was salvaged from an Eau Claire, WI area church some years ago that was built around 1880. I currently have three of these and are offering them individually. They are not perfect, but pretty close. Each one has tight hairline cracks to a couple pleces of the ripple opalescent and stained glass pieces that we have elected to leave alone and are documented in all of the photos. These are insignificant and can be covered by lead overlays, but we didn’t want to mess with the great pattern on these pieces and to replace and match the glass would be very expensive. They probably served as transom windows and originally were probably installed horizontally. In any case, they are in the shape consistent with their age. Frames are original and the glass sits firmly in the frames with no bowing. Lead caming remains strong. Overall in the frame measurement is 21″w x 34″h and the frames are 1 3/4″ thick. Measurement for the glass only is 18″w x 30″h. A lovely representation of the Victorian era. I will offer a discount if more than one are purchased by the same buyer.
