Description
Second City Salvage is honored to offer this pair of old cabinet doors that date to c1910. These were salvaged from a residence from the Prospect Park neighborhood of Minneapolis some years ago. This neighborhood was strongly influenced by the architectural firm of Elmslie & Purcell back at the early part of the 20th century and when Interstate 94 was built back in the late 1950s & early 1960s, many of these historic homes were demolished unfortunately. These panels are most definitely Prairie School and we are so thankful that they survived the ages. Each panel measures 21 ¼”w x 42 ½”h and the walnut frames are 1″ thick. They are comprised mainly of clear wavy glass and crown zinc caming which remains strong. The accents are in clear and amber glue chip glass and black diamond stained glass pieces. There are four cracks between the two panels (three on one and one on the other). These are insignificant and I am opting to leave them alone although cost to repair will run around $450 so will leave that up to the next owner of these special pieces. Just wow and you’re welcome.
