Description
Second City Salvage is offering today this pair of antique Victorian oak columns that date to around the late 19th or early 20th century and almost have a Venetian Revival look to them. They are in remarkably good condition with only a few dings and scuffs which are consistent with age. Carved floret detail on the tops of the columns are a nice touch (there are florets on only three sides of the columns). The bases and tops are 7″ square and each one is 32″h. I’m envisioning these as legs for a hallway/console table in an entryway, possibly with a nice slab of marble on top. They were probably original to a mantle, collonade or maybe even a back bar. Some remnants of original paint in shades of deep red, green and blue are still present, but some has worn off over time. We are happy that we were able to rescue them, clean them up and give them their second life. Price is for the pair. We are not willing to separate these.
