Second City Salvage is offering today this rare piece of bathroom jewelry. It is a nickel plated brass claw foot tub head rest or tub seat with the original canvas strap. Side buckles have the original nickel plating in very good condition although one shows some wear and loss of finish. The original canvas strap is also in very good shape and remains strong. I would advise not using it to sit on given its age and if you wanted to use this piece as a seat, the canvas should probably be replaced, but used as a headrest, it would probably be just fine. The buckles are 6 3/4″h x 4″w and the canvas strap is 5″w x 36″long. Last picture in the listing shows this accessory in the 1905 Art Brass catalog. A collector of fine bathroom wares would covet this piece for sure!
