Second City Salvage is offering today this lovely Victorian/Aesthetic Era transom window that was salvaged from a Chicago residence c1890. It’s design is so unique in that it is asymmetrical with a beveled fleur de lis center and super colorful stained, ripple, textured and opalescent glass pieces surrounding it with swirls, flowers and faceted jewels in red, pink, amber and clear. It has been professionally restored – no cracks to any pieces and some spots needed resoldering etc. Leading is flat and tight. Overall in the frame measurement is 64″w x 22 ¼”h and the original frame it sits in is 1 ½” thick. Glass only measurement is 59″w x 17″h. A rare find that is looking for it’s forever home for the next 150 years. Put this over your picture window! A monumental piece that would be a great focal point in your space. A truly spectacular find for your original Victorian home or new Victorian construction.
