Description
Second City Salvage is offering today this fantastic pair of Machine Age/Art Deco chrome plated solid brass sconces with original milk glass cylinder shades in excellent condition! They are heavy/beefy and measure 6″w x 15″h and will project 6″ from the wall once installed. Shades are 2 7/8″ dia. (OD) x 12″h. Chrome plating is in excellent condition with only a very tiny spot of rust on the bottom of one that you will never see and some very minimal loss of plating in a couple spots. These flaws are not notable, but I have to mention. Turn switches are functional, but the outlet on one has been bypassed. We think these could have been made by Gruber Bros., and found this catalog page (last photo), but not totally sure. Pretty close. The fact is that they are OLD, from the 1930s and are totally Art Deco. The shades are in excellent condition with no major chips or cracks and show like they are brand new. They were salvaged from a Minneapolis, MN home. An amazing pair that would be so great in your Art Deco home and could even be paired with a more modern design. They accept a standard base bulb, wiring will be updated and tested and we will include a modern cross bar needed for install. They are priced as a pair and we are not willing to separate them.
