Second City Salvage is thrilled to offer this pair of antique heavy cast bronze neoclassical door plates with knobset that was salvaged from Chicago City Hall/Cook County building some years ago. The county building was finished in 1908 and city hall in 1911 and both were designed by the architectural firm of Holabird & Roche. The plates were designed and fabricated by Yale & Towne, Stamford, CT (marked Y&T on the back) and features the Cook County Seal in great detail on the bottom of the plates. Patina is original and these have only been lightly cleaned. The plates measure 3 1/2″w x 11″h. The knobs are also Yale & Towne in the Olympus pattern. They are heavy brass and pair with this set nicely. Wonderful pieces of Chicago history to add to your collection of rare hardware.
