Second City Salvage is offering today this brass 3-light brass sconce that dates to the Arts & Crafts era c1905. This light was lacquered when received so once that was stripped off, this is the patina that we found underneath. It has only been lightly cleaned. The top light was formerly a gas jet that has been converted to electric with a brass sleeve added to cover the candelabra bulb socket. The other two standard base sockets have been restored and are original and have been paired with square shades which are reproductions. These shades are etched on the interior and are clear on the corners and in mint condition with no chips or cracks. Overall measurement of this light is 3 1/2″w x 12″h (add 3″ to the tip of the bulb shown – not included) and it will project 12 1/4″ from the wall once installed. The canopy is 4 ½” square x 3″h. The shades themselves are 3 ½” square x 4 ¼”h and have 2 ¼” fitters. All three lights light up simultaneously, but the two down lights can be controlled by their paddle switches on the socket. The up light does not have its own switch and the “key” shown was for the gas jet and is purely decorative. A great addition to your Craftsman or Arts & Crafts décor!
