Description
This is a pair of cast iron outdoor sconces or porch lights c1927 manufactured by Murlin Mfg. Co, Philadelphia, PA. These have been stripped of all original paint and repainted a black satin, rewired with modern cross bars, tested and ready to install. These accept standard base bulbs and the shades do need to be removed for a bulb change so LEDs are recommended. Overall measurement is 6″w x 13″h and will project 8″ from the wall once installed – wall plate is 5″w x 9″h. The period embossed milk glass globe shades are 6″ diameter x 6″h with a 3″ fitter in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The shades are amazing, however don’t match exactly and the lines on one is thicker/darker than the other, but they pair well together and not notable unless scrutinized up close. The backplates have nice egg & dart detail and the arms have scrolling detail as well. The last photo shows them in the 1927 Murlin catalog. They are priced for the pair and I am not willing to split them up.
