Second City Salvage is offering today this cute little semi-flush mount light c1920 with a polished nickel plated brass canopy & fitter and clam broth glass shade in mint condition that is marked “CHATHAM DESIGN” (very difficult to capture in a photo, but I tried). Salvaged from a Two Harbors, MN home, it’s the perfect light for a smaller space such as a powder room or small hallway that would make a dramatic statement. Nickel plating on the brass fitter is original and it was originally painted. Plating is in exceptional condition with no loss. Once we got all of the paint off, this is what we found underneath and it’s just fabulous! There are, however, a couple of stress fractures to the edge of the canopy that in no way affect the integrity of the light and are insignificant, but I have to mention (last photo). Shade is in mint condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. It measures 7 1/2″w and will drop 5 1/2″ from the ceiling once installed (add 2″ for the bulb shown). Pair with an Edison bulb as shown (but not included) for a great vintage look! Shade itself is 7 1/2″ dia. x 3″ h and has a 2 1/4″ fitter and the canopy measures 5 1/2″ dia. x 3″h. This light will come to you with updated wiring, a new socket, a bracket needed for mounting and will be ready to install. What are you waiting for? It’s pretty much perfect.
