Second City Salvage is thrilled to be able to offer this gorgeous all original solid brass antique Wakefield Arts & Crafts or Craftsman chandelier c1910 that has been restored from head to toe. This piece a sooty mess when received and I think it may have been in a fire. We were able to remove all of that ick and this is the patina that we found underneath! It has only been lightly cleaned and has not been lacquered. It has been paired with these lovely Kokomo Bournique opalescent textured glass shades that are a creamy brownish/amber color on an off-white background, but when lit, give off a blue hue in spots. One shade differs in color very slightly (it’s more off-white & orangeish/brown and gold in color) and is more noticeable when they are not lit, but once light shines through, they are all basically the same. The one shade that differs slightly has two very fine hairlines near the fitter that extends down the shade about 1″. Very hard to tell whether these are actual cracks or a “push” to the glass which is what happens when hot glass is poured into cold molds. In any case, these flaws do not in any way, affect the integrity of the shade. With the shades, the light measures 26″w and will drop 49″ from the ceiling to the bottom finial once installed. The drop can be adjusted at an additional cost. Wiring has been updated with gold period cloth wiring. The canopy is 4 ½” square x 4 1/2″h and the shades are 5″ square x 3 1/4″h and have 2 ¼” fitters. Original pull chain Hubbell sockets are fully functional with the original acorn brass pulls. The chandelier bears the Wakefield mark as shown in the last photo. It accepts four standard base bulbs and will come to you with a modern cross bar ready to install.
