Second City Salvage is excited to offer this cute antique brass semi-flush mount ceiling light that dates to c1915 or so. Overall, measurement is 6″w and it will drop 6 ¾” from the ceiling once installed. Fitter base has the original finish and mild discoloration – it has only been lightly cleaned. It measures 5 ½” dia. x 3″ and has a 2 ¼” fitter. The shade… OH THE SHADE! It’s hand painted with a palm tree and a sail boat with a deep blue and sand colored background and it’s just beyond fabulous. It measures 6″w x 4 ½” and shows NO loss of the hand painting nor any chips or cracks, just a little roughness to the bottom edge. These are not notable flaws and are consistent with the age of the piece. It does have a significant chip around the fitter edge that disappears once it’s installed on the fitter and does not affect how it sits on the light itself (last photo). The good news is that the shade does not have to be removed to do a bulb change. It accepts a standard base bulb, the wiring and socket have been updated and it will come to you with a modern cross bar needed for install. Add a bit of the tropics to your décor and winter will virtually disappear!
