This articulating sconce by Moran & Hastings, Chicago c1905 is a rare find. There was (key word “was”) a M&H label on the underside of the canopy that somehow disappeared during cleaning. I took a picture of it prior to getting this piece cleaned up (last photo) thank goodness. Here’s the scoop. Fully extended, this sconce is 27″ with each arm being 10″. The canopy is 2 ¾” square so can either be installed directly onto a beam or you can have a brass plate fabricated to cover a junction box. I have paired it with a Handel lotus flower shade in green and white opalescent glass. Shade measures 5″w x 4″h and has a 2 ¼” fitter. There is a very tight hairline crack on one of the green petals that I have elected to leave alone as it does not, in any way, affect the integrity of the shade and it can just be turned around and hidden. This light would be perfect installed over a desk! It will come to you with updated wiring, will be tested and ready to install. A lovely, lovely piece from the early 20th century.
